Jul 28, 2026
UpgradeThe dashboards have all been upgraded to support the "pending" observations that come through with the new faster hourly data when in IBKR/Poly/RH You will see a dashed line for pending data and it will not be reflected in the Wethr High/Low in Poly/IBKR/RH resolution mode until a second source has confirmed it.

Additionally, you will see a "pending" value in the Wethr Extremes area of the dashboard and in the recent observations it will be notated as "mt-p" for pending metar.

A pending metar may remain pending for the entirety of the day if it is never picked up by a second source. In that case, it will remain on the dashboard until a higher/lower (depending on which extreme we're talking about) confirmed metar is achieved.

Note: The data is real - it is simply a matter of "will WUnderground pick it up" - and requiring a second source closer to their ingestion path will dramatically reduce the rate of error.
UpgradeBoth the REST and PUSH API for observations have been updated to include new fields which are of the most importance for WU highs and lows.

Over the last few days one of our new data sources has reliably provided hourly/special metar data that traditional metar sources fail to obtain during outages between the FAA and NWS. As a result the Wethr high/low in WU mode could differ from the resolution source if data came through to Wethr during one of those outages.

To protect users from this and give them full autonomy on using or disregarding this much faster data based on their own risk tolerance, we have excluded this faster source from the Wethr High/Low for WU resolution mode until a second source confirms it, however we make the "potential" new high/low data available during that window.

API documentation for the new fields can be found at:
REST: https://wethr.net/edu/api-docs#v2-obs-preliminary
PUSH: https://wethr.net/edu/api-docs#v2-push-preliminary
